Tobacco, was a dark, leafy plant with a sweet scent indigenous to the Southern coast of the Sapphire Sea and surrounding islands. Tobacco leaves could be dried and smoked in pipes, similarly to other types of pipeweed, but it was also possible to roll them in cigars. In all applications, tobacco was said to be far superior in flavor to any other pipeweed. Unlike other types of pipeweed, tobacco had no obvious effects and was used simply for the flavor and pleasure of the activity.
Tobacco was legal in all regions, and was extensively farmed in Findle. The most famous tobacco farms were owned by the Hemet noble family.
Like many other types of pipeweed, tobacco cost approximately 100gp per lb.
